CHURCH CENTERED

The Seminary offers rigorous courses in the Scriptures and theology. But we’re after something deeper and more foundational for the church and the world than merely academic excellence.

We are committed to a whole-life, ministry-shaping pastoral education that sharpens each student’s character and gifts within the church under the mentorship of ordained pastors. It is this ecclesiocentric education that knits students, their teachers, pastor-mentors, studies, practical experiences, and lives together in the context of their own congregations where they live, work, and worship.

The Seminary does not stand alone. It is not a goal unto itself. It is a partner with the Lord’s church. As our mission statement says, we “assist the church.” The church is at the center of pastoral education and training. The Seminary is not. That is why our classes are taught by pastors and church leaders. That is why students are mentored by pastors who actively serve the church and proclaim Christ’s Kingdom in all the world. That is why our motto says, “For the Lord. For the Church. For the World.”
